Overview

The Triund trek in the Himalayas is a relatively easy and popular trail, offering stunning views of the snow-covered Dhauladhar ranges and the Kangra Valley. One of Himachal's most loved short treks, the route climbs from Dharamkot near McLeod Ganj through oak, deodar and fir forests to a ridge-top camp under the stars.

Day-by-day itinerary

  1. Day 1

    Bhagsunag to Karthani (7 km, 3–4 hours). The route passes Bhagsu Waterfall through deodar, oak and fir forests, with sunset viewing and a campfire dinner at Karthani Camp.

  2. Day 2

    Karthani to Triund Top (1 km uphill) for sunrise, then descend Triund Top to Bhagsunag (8 km downhill, 4–5 hours) through mountain landscapes.
